Hall seeks same committee assignments, backs VA secretary designate

WASHINGTON – Congressman John Hall of Dover Plains begins his second two-year term in the House of Representatives in January and he is seeking the same committee posts he held when he was first elected two years ago.

Hall wants to be reappointed to the VA and Transportation committees.

“I’m asking for the same appointments to the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, in particular to chair the subcommittee on disability assistance, and also for Transportation Infrastructure, which is to be involved in the new highway bill that will be very important for the whole country, but especially for a commuter area like the New York metro area and the Hudson Valley,” he said.

Hall is also supporting the choice of Retired Army General Erik Shinseki as Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The general is “exactly the leader the Veterans Administration needs today,” said Hall.

As a disabled veteran I am very pleased with Congressman Hall's conduct on the VA Committee and wished all law makers were as dedicated to doing right by this nations veterans, as John Hall has been for the past 2 years. Please give him the assignments he wants on the Veterans Committee, we veterans appreciate dedicated law makers who do the right thing for us and our families, we don't want more than we deserve, we just want what was promised when we enlisted.
