H.R. 2419 Burn Pits legislation

Subject: Contact your Representatives now to build support for the Burn Pits legislation

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you all know, Congressman Bishop introduced legislation recently (H.R. 2419) aimed at not only finding out how many were exposed to toxins from the burn pits and whether they are sick, but also stopping this kind of action in the future. A press conference will be held on this legislation June 11th at 11:00am. We now need your help to move this legislation forward. Simply put, this will force the DOD to do what the DAV cannot, which is finding most everyone exposed and most everyone sick, or everyone who gets sick. While the DAV helped to start this mission, we cannot finish it, not without the Governments support.

The link below will take you to a webpage containing a letter we sent to our action e list—a grass roots engine. Most of you are probably not on the list so I am sending you the link directly. Click on the link and then put in your zip code. That will take you to another letter we have prepared for you that will then be sent from you to your congressional Representatives urging their support for the legislation. You have the option of using the letter we prepared or amending the letter to make it more personal to your situation, please feel free to do so. Now that the legislation is on the street, Representatives hearing from their own constituents is one effective way to build support. We need your help more now than ever.

Thank you
