Veterans monument, pig roast set for Sept. 27
Local military veteran organizations will be hosting a pig roast and monument placement Saturday.
The monument placement will be in front of the Berkeley County Health Department, 109 West Main Street (Hwy. 6) in Moncks Corner at 3 p.m. on Sept. 27. The public is invited to both.
A barbecue dinner will be held at VFW Post 9509, 1142 South Live Oak Drive (Hwy. 17A) at 5 p.m. The public is invited. Dinners are $6 at the door. Glen Crosby will be cooking the pigs.
Memorial bricks to be placed at the monument are for sale at $35 for a single brick and $65 for a double brick. Any donor of $100 or more will have a brick in the donor section of the monument.
